An owner has been in court after he allowed his dog to chase deer around a park.
Nicholas Higgs, of Harrowdene Gardens in Teddington, was fined £271 for allowing his Italian greyhound to chase deer in Bushy Park on March 11.
The 43-year-old man pleaded guilty at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on May 2.
This was his third conviction for the same offence in three years.
Police were called after members of the public saw his dog chasing deer for a significant amount of time.
A video shared by police shows the dog chasing after a herd of deer who scatter across the park.
Police said: “If you know your dog chases the deer, then don't let them off the lead in a deer park, It will be safer for all park users, the wildlife and the dog.”
