A man in his 30s has died after falling from a major bridge in Richmond.
The man, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, fell from Richmond Bridge at 7.18pm on February 23.
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man had fallen from height.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are working to confirm his identity and inform next of kin.
The death is being treated as unexpected, though initial enquiries suggest it is not suspicious.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called by LAS at 7.18pm on 23 February to Bridge Street, Richmond, after a man was reported to have fallen from height from Richmond Bridge.
“Despite the efforts of emergency services the man, believed aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Police are working to confirm his identity and inform next of kin.
“The death is being treated as unexpected, though initial enquiries suggest it is not suspicious.
“Richmond Bridge is closed in both directions and alternative routes should be used.”
