A man has been charged with attempted murder and rape after a woman was found seriously injured in a Hounslow street.
The victim, who is thought to be in her 60s, was found with a head injury in Martindale Road yesterday (November 2) at 6.15am.
She was taken to hospital where she is currently fighting for her life.
Police say that her family have been informed and she is being supported by officers.
Ramazan Mukalazi, of Benson Close in Hounslow, will appear in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court today (November 3).
The 39-year-old is charged with rape and attempted murder.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “A man has been charged with rape and attempted murder after a woman was found seriously injured in Hounslow.
“Ramazan Mukalazi, 39 (07.06.83), of Benson Close, Hounslow, will appear in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 3 November.
“Police were called at 06:14hrs on Wednesday, 2 November, after a woman was found seriously injured in Martindale Road, Hounslow.
“Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and found a woman, aged in her 60s, with a head injury.
“She was taken to hospital where she remains in a life-threatening condition.
“Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.”
