Firefighters worked hard in “challenging conditions” on the hottest day of the year to tackle a house fire in Hounslow.
London Fire Brigade took 17 calls to a house fire on Guildford Avenue in Feltham on Friday.
Most of the ground floor of the house was on fire, but there was nobody inside the home when the blaze occurred.
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters from Feltham, Hayes, Twickenham and surrounding fire stations dealt with the blaze.
The brigade was called around 2pm and the fire was brought under control by 3.25pm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Station Commander Steven Vydelingum, who was at the scene said: "There were no people inside the house at the time.
"Firefighters worked hard in challenging, hot conditions to bring the fire under control."
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a house fire on Guildford Avenue in Feltham.
“Most of the ground floor of a mid-terraced house was alight.
“Crews are expected to remain on scene this afternoon.
“The Brigade's 999 Control Officers took 17 calls to the blaze.
“The Brigade was called at 1403 and the fire was under control by 1525.
“Fire crews from Feltham, Hayes, Twickenham and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
