A Teddington man has been fined for allowing his dog to chase the deer in Bushy Park.
The incident occurred on April 24, 2022.
The 42-year-old pleaded guilty at Wimbledon Magistrates Court yesterday.
He was fined a total of £249, with £85 relating to court costs and a victim surcharge of £34.
Owners must keep their dogs under control as deer can feel threatened by them even over long distances.
Dogs are welcome in all Royal Parks but there are some areas where they are asked to be kept on a lead or not allowed into that space at all.
During birthing season, which runs from May to July, the rangers ask that dogs are kept on leads and away from the deer at all times.
If you witness a dog chasing a deer, contact the on-call police officers for Bushy and Richmond Parks via 07920586546.
