A person has died after being hit by a train at St Margarets Station in Twickenham.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the incident shortly after 6.45am today (March 2).
Despite the efforts of the paramedics, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
All lines are blocked between Twickenham and Richmond as disruption to train services is expected until 12pm.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to St Margarets station at 6.46am this morning following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
An announcement from South Western Railway said: "Due to emergency services dealing with an incident between Twickenham and Richmond all lines are blocked.
"Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised.
"Disruption is expected until 12pm, March 2.
"We have received reports that a person has been struck by a train between Twickenham and Richmond.
"Our response teams are working with the emergency services to assist with the incident."
