There are reports this morning of mass amounts of smoke emerging from a Boots store in Teddington.
A passer-by said the smoke was "billowing" out of the cosmetics store in Broad Street.
She said she saw a fire engine on its way but "had to leave the area".
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: "Firefighters were called to reports of smoke issuing from a pharmacy on Broad Street in Teddington at 0840 this morning.
"It was a false alarm and the incident was over for crews by 0845. Two fire engines from Twickenham Fire Station attended."
