A teenager has been found guilty of grievous bodily harm after he stabbed a man during an attempted robbery in Kew.
18-year-old Isaac Musoke was found guilty of GBH and attempted robbery at the conclusion of a trial at Kingston Crown Court on Tuesday (June 22).
The case related to a stabbing that happened during an attempted robbery on Royal Parade in Kew on January 20, 2019.
Musoke targeted a 57-year-old man, who was walking to his car at the time, stabbing him during an attempted robbery.
The 57-year-old was taken to hospital where he was treated and thankfully recovered.
The case was prosecuted after police found a knife with the victim’s blood on it, recovered from the scene of the stabbing.
Meanwhile a DNA match was also found on the handle of the weapon and matched to Musoke.
He was arrested on July 9 last year and subsequently charged.
Detective Constable Richard Roberts, who led the investigation, said: "This was an opportunistic crime that began as an attempted robbery but resulted in a violent stabbing.
"Thankfully, those injuries were not life threatening but I’m sure this incident will have had a long lasting impact on the victim.
"I hope that this conviction demonstrates that the Met will not tolerate any form of violent crime."
