An artist and her young nephew have painted 100 pictures to celebrate the birthday of the late Sir Thomas Moore.
Lucy Aston, from Twickenham, took on the creative challenge over the bank holiday weekend with two-year-old Archie, after seeing an appeal from the Army veteran’s family.

Captain Tom’s daughter, Hannah Ingram-Moore, rallied people on national TV to hold their own “100” mission on what would have been his 101st birthday weekend.
The national treasure raised millions of pounds for the NHS by walking 100 laps of his Bedfordshire garden, before he passed away from COVID-19 on Feb 2.

Lucy and Archie joined scores of others from April 30 to May 3 participating in fun activities in his memory.
The pair crafted 100 pictures in bright paint and glitter, which they hope to sell and give the proceeds to NHS charities.

Former fashion designer Lucy, who also sews scrubs for hospital staff in Roehampton, said:
“Captain Tom was such an inspiration raising millions of pounds at his age. When I saw his family on the news encouraging others I thought it was such a good idea, especially to get children involved in giving to charity and the NHS while they’re small.”
“Archie loves painting, so this was the perfect way to get him involved.”
