A woman was seriously injured in a crash on Twickenham Road (A316) in Richmond earlier today (Tuesday, March 30) that prompted road closures in the area.
Reports of a heavy emergency services presence in the area emerged on Tuesday afternoon with road users advised to avoid the space around "Richmond Circus to Twickenham Bridge" into Tuesday evening.
It was later confirmed that a woman in her 50s had been seriously injured after a crash on Twickenham Road.

A woman, in her 50s, was found seriously injured. She was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries.
Responding to a request from the Richmond and Twickenham Times, a spokesperson for the Met Police said:
"Police were called to Twickenham Road, Richmond, shortly after 16.30hrs to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a car.
"Officers attended along with paramedics from London Ambulance Service (LAS).
"A woman, in her 50s, was found seriously injured. She was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. We await an update on her condition.
"The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries."
London Ambulance Service told the RTT:
"We were called at 4.33pm yesterday (30 March) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a cyclist on Twickenham Road, Richmond.
"We sent an ambulance crew, a medic in a car, an incident response officer, and a hazardous area response team. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance.
"A person was treated at the scene and taken to a major trauma centre as a priority."
The Richmond MPS Twitter account meanwhile advised road users of extended closures nearby as emergency services continued their work, and released an information appeal:

"Anyone who witnessed the accident is urged to call us on 101 quoting reference CAD5393/30Mar21."
