An Italian man has been caught trying to carry a decommissioned grenade in his luggage at Heathrow Airport.
Met Police have now charged Domenico Giovinazzo, 19, with carrying a prohibited article in an aerodrome (January 16).
Plice say they were called at around 5:30pm on Friday, January 15, following concerns about an item found in a passenger's luggage in the Departure Lounge of Terminal 2.
The entire terminal was evacuated due to the bomb threat, but specialist officers found the item posed no threat.
The Italian national is due to appear in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates Court on Monday, January 18.
