A woman from Teddington was crowned Mrs India UK business woman of the year at the annual pageant earlier this month.
Nita Sharma, 40, is originally from Vidyanagar, a small town in Gujarat, India.
The mother of two was also named runner up in the overall category.
Mrs Sharma moved to the UK at a young age to pursue a career as an artist, settling in Teddington seven years ago, where she runs specialist menswear fashion store Studio 148.
"With increasing responsibilities of motherhood, I decided to step away from painting and pursued the business of art, by acquiring the Selwyn Smith Studio on Teddington High Street," said the mother of two.
"This venture did not work out as expected, however I realised a lack of specialist menswear on the high street.
"London has helped me realise and convert my passion from art to fashion, which has resulted in successfully running a menswear boutique in Teddington."
Nita’s store stands out successfully on Teddington High Street. The clothes displayed at her store are handpicked by Nita ranging only from global speciality brands.
