A woman has died after a tragic fire in Twickenham.

She was rescued by firefighters from the bungalow fire, in The Ridge, but sadly later died in hospital.

One man escaped the bungalow - half of which was damaged by the fire - before the brigade arrived and was also treated at hospital.

Almost half of the bungalow was damaged by fire, which was brought under control by a team of 21 firefighters.

The Fire Brigade was called at 11.14pm and the fire was under control around 12.55am.

Fire crews from Heston, Twickenham and Wimbledon fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
