Former mayor of Richmond Councillor Meena Bond got to grips with a new 20m zip wire at North Sheen Recreation Ground on Monday.
The council's cabinet member for sport took on the challenge at the opening of a new adventure playground at the Dancer Road park.
It includes an 'inclusive' roundabout, twisters, a paddling pool and a trampoline.
She said: "Our award-winning parks team have an excellent track record of delivering projects that are hugely successful and I’m certain this latest venture will be no different."
Katy Robins, chairman of the Friends of North Sheen Recreation Ground, added: "We shared this finding with Richmond Council and helped them conduct a study with children and parents that was used to inform the playground re-design."
