A motorcyclist has captured the moment he was 'happy slapped' across the face while driving over Kew Bridge.

EARLIER THIS YEAR: Video: "There’s a ******* cycle lane. I’ll ******* kill you"- explosive row between cyclist and driver

A Range Rover driver hit Sam Chapman, from Ealing, knocking his head back while riding his scooter through rush hour traffic on October 20.

The 23-year-old uploaded the shocking footage to YouTube and hopes it will warn others of the dangerous actions.

The video shows Mr Chapman driving over Kew Bridge in the evening and there is a clear thudding sound when the Range Rover driver slaps him.

He told the Daily Mail: "'It left me feeling really shaken - I wasn't doing anything wrong and to be hit unexpectedly like that, it felt like I had been in a car crash.

'There was nothing to provoke it.

"If it wasn't for the fact that I was slowing down myself, because I saw the Range Rover driving aggressively, he could have broken my neck.

"It really annoyed me that the guy thought he could just get away with it and drive off - it's so dangerous to do that to someone on a bike."

The video production student said he was letting the motorist past and did nothing wrong in the unprovoked attack.

He added: "'I was actually letting him past.

"I am not in the wrong.

"I've given him space and got slapped as a thank you."

The Range Rover driver told Mr Chapman, who has decided not to press charges, that he also had filmed the assault when he challenged him.

'Happy slapping' involves somebody filming an assault on a victim but, in this case, the victim caught the attacker's face on camera.

Metropolitan Police said they are aware of the incident but no arrests have been made.
