Love, deception and an unusually happy ending are all part of opera Elisir d’Amore (Elixir of Love), loved by English and Italian audiences alike.
This Valentine’s Day performance, by Villa InCanto, removes the repetition and focuses on the core story, providing the emotional essence and intensity of the opera in a concise performance, according to musical director Riccardo Serrenelli.
Audiences will experience the singers up close in the intimate style and familiarity typical of the Italian opera scene.
Serrenelli says: "It is a real pleasure to perform in the unique surroundings of the Normansfield Theatre which captures the period feel of the opera in a very special way."
