Orleans House Gallery is tackling loneliness and isolation by providing a buddy up scheme at its talk and draw workshops.
The sessions will focus on artworks at the gallery's exhibitions and encourage people to talk among new friends.
Richmond Council is looking for volunteers, who will receive a one-day training session beforehand.
Councillor Pamela Fleming, said: “Meeting new people and having a chat through art is a wonderful way of beating loneliness and isolation.
“In Richmond we are fortunate to have such a wonderful gallery at Orleans House and I commend their efforts in encouraging more people to enjoy these wonderful exhibitions.”
Email Gwen.Ramsay@richmond.gov.uk for details about training sessions in February and March.
