A songwriter referred to in the US as “a modern-day Dostoyevsky” brings his ambitious and provocative style to Twickfolk this New Year.
Robb Johnson, whose songs feature in the repertoires of musicians such as Rob Bailey and Barb Jungr, saw his CD Gentle Men win the Daily Telegraph’s folk album of 1998, as well as a folk album of the month award from Mojo.
Johnson’s Winter Turns to Spring was reportedly Tony Benn’s favourite song, and the Hounslow-born musician’s record label, Irregular Records, has released more than 30 albums since 1985.
Robb will be supported by brothers Ed and Ollie Goodale, know across the UK for their enthusiastic and personality-driven performances.
Ed’s thought-provoking songs are crafted from his observations and interpretation of life through creative eyes driven by Asperger’s syndrome.
Ed Goodale, who performed on stage for the first time in 2011, released his debut album, the Same but Different, in December 2014.
