A volunteer whose work has spanned 25 years was honoured with a community award for her efforts this December.
Joan Barnett, whose work includes fundraising, co-ordinating play schemes and co-running a youth club, currently serves as a trustee for the Hampton and Hampton Hill Philanthropic Society and Teddington Old People’s Welfare Association.
Ms Barnett was presented with the community volunteer award on December 11 by her fellow volunteers at Elleray Hall in Teddington.
She said: "It was great to be recognised for the voluntary work I have been involved with, but I really don’t need all this fuss."
