A candle-lit vigil to commemorate the declaration of World War I will be held in Twickenham's Radnor Gardens today.
The event, lasting 12 hours throughout the day, has been arranged by the Royal British Legion and the Friends of Radnor Gardens.
The day's programme will be centred around the war memorial, starting at 9am with the raising of the Union Flag.
The eternal flame will be lit as part of the opening service.
A remembrance service, led by Padre David Loftus with a lone piper, will see the names of the fallen read out - a mark of respect to be repeated every two hours.
At 8pm, all Richmond folk are invited to join and light candles before the sunset ceremony at 8.46pm.
Her Serene Highness Marie-Therese von Hohenberg, Mrs Anthony Bailey, great-granddaughter of HI and RH Archduke Franz Ferdinand will be present.
