A trivia game invented in part by a Richmond entrepreneur, who turned down an offer from Duncan Bannatyne in the Dragons’ Den, has been turned into a TV gameshow.

Linkee has inspired a brand new BBC One game show called The Link.

The show, which debuted this week, is aired from 1.25pm to 2.15pm, Monday to Friday, and BBC has commissioned 25 episodes.

The original game, the brainchild of Dean Tempest, Ben Drummond and Tristan Hyatt-Williams, topped the online shopping charts after the trio turned down investment on Dragons’ Den.

Mr Hyatt-Williams, from Richmond, said: “The really exciting thing about the TV show is that Warner Bros has secured the global distribution rights so if it’s a hit in the UK, there’s a great chance it will start popping up in other countries around the world.

“Fingers crossed the nation likes it.”
