A community cafe holds a Christmas fair to help vulnerable people.
The Vineyard Community Centre Cafe in Richmond raises cash for those who find themselves needing help, whether they are homeless or have lost their job.
Various activities have been run from the cafe, including art classes and flower arranging, but the knitting group has grown and will put on a Christmas fair, selling various pieces the group has made by hand.
Cafe manager Enid Kimmerling says the knitting group has proved to be a fertile ground for blossoming friendships.
She says: “There are about 15 people in the group and lots of items have been knitted which will be on sale at the Christmas fair.
“We call the cafe a cafe with a conscience because all the proceeds go towards people who are homeless.”
