Robots and celebrities joined staff and children at Orleans Primary School for the official opening of its new, all mod-cons classrooms.
The ribbon was cut by mayor of Richmond Councillor Meena Bond to mark the occasion.
Jason Bradbury from the Gadget Show also took time to experience the new classrooms and talk with the pupils.
In the past two years the school has undergone an extensive building programme, giving it a contemporary look within the original Victorian building.
In September 2012 the school officially opened as Orleans Primary School and now has classrooms for reception through to year 6.
It also included an extended large hall, a new small hall and design technology room and a purpose-built library.
Headteacher Jane Evans said: “For the staff and children, seeing the school transform into its current look has been a very interesting journey.
“The children watched with fascination the different aspects of the building work taking place, from giant cranes to lorries.”
Two years ago, the school celebrated their centenary by burying a time capsule for future pupils to discover what life was like in 2011.
