An independent sandwich shop that has been feeding people in Richmond for more than a year has picked up another national award for its popular grub.
Cook and Garcia, opposite Richmond station, was named the best independent outlet at Lunch Business Grab and Go Awards.
Judges described the shop, which won a Richmond Business Award last year, as a great start up business priding itself on offering quality, healthy food at an affordable price.
Richard Garcia, founder of Cook and Garcia said: “What we do is not complicated, but executed extremely well.
“We are uncompromising in our standards – every cup of coffee, every sandwich, every customer experience has to be the best in can be – this is the only way to compete and survive on the high street. “We are thrilled that all our hard work has been recognised with this award.”
The sandwich shop hit the headlines earlier this year when it became one of the first outlets in the country to accept a PayPal face recognition payment method.
