Schoolboys stepped into the shoes of choristers and sung in Hampton Court Palace’s Chapel Royal.
The chapel is normally reserved for performances by upcoming voices from the palace’s choral foundation but for one day it was opened to 23 schoolboys and their families for a taster event.
The boys, from 19 schools across Richmond, Kingston and Elmbridge, took part in a workshop and found out what it takes to be a chorister.
The choral foundation works to ensure musical heritage at the palace will continue for generations to come and recruits talented boys to give them free musical education.
The boys now have the chance to audition to become a chorister and follow in the footsteps of Tallis and Purcell - two examples of the home-grown talent in the 500 years of musical heritage at the Chapel Royal at Hampton Court.
