Police are warning people not to give out bank details over the phone after a spate of scams.
Officers said there has been an increase of phone fraud in the borough, with seven cases reported this weekend.
In each case people received a phone call from someone claiming to be a police officer investigating fraud after they arrested someone with a cash card.
The fraudster then asked the victim to give their bank details over the phone and that a courier would collect their card from their home address.
In some cases the victim was invited to put the phone down and ring a number to check the call was legitimate, but the scammer did not hang up and kept the line open so the victim was still talking to them.
Police said officers would never ring up and ask for bank details or for any personal information to be given over the phone.
If you get a call from someone asking for personal details hang up and call police on 101 using a different phone.
