A nine-year-old schoolboy from Twickenham and his older brother have composed the jingle for a new mobile phone engineering app.
Lysander Kahane of St Mary’s and Erasmus Kahane, 12, were the musical brains behind the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE)’s new app called Ace Trails.
The free app, which aims to inspire young people into engineering, gives an augmented reality walking tour of King’s Cross station in 15 individual videos featuring the jingle.
The boys were given certificates by ACE’s chief executive, Dr Nelson Ogunshakin, when the app was launched this week.
It was attended by leading industry professionals including the chairman of Crossrail, Terry Morgan.
Jane Calvert-Lee, project manager, said: “Right across the industry there is a need to attract talented young people.
“We face fierce competition from other industries for the brightest students.
“This app will help young people and their families find out about the engineering behind their everyday lives and what a career in engineering might look like.”
