A man caught drink-driving while a child was in his car has been banned from getting behind the wheel for 18 months.
Michael Shephard, of Oak Avenue, Hampton, was nearly twice the drink-drive limit when he was caught with a seven-year-old child in his Renault Clio in Kneller Road, Twickenham, on August 26.
The 37-year-old was ordered to pay a £180 fine, £20 victim surcharge, and £85 in costs by Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 11.
He was also disqualified from driving for 18 months but his ban will be reduced by four months if he completes a drink driver awareness course by September next year.
