A party will be held to raise funds for a much-loved pony that had to have an emergency operation.

The Friends of Park Lane Stables in Teddington organised the party in aid of 16-year-old Trigger, who underwent surgery on his right foreleg to relieve severe pain and discomfort.

The party will include pony rides, a bouncy castle, face painting and the sale of the Pony Club's painted horseshoes to raise funds for the popular pony.

Friends of Park Lane Stables spokesman Richard Sharp said: “Trigger has put so much effort in over the years, given rides to countless children and raised so much money for local charities.

“It seems only right that his fans rally round now and help him so that he can enjoy a well earned retirement.”

The event will be held at the Bloated Mallard in Hampton Hill on Sunday, September 22, from noon to 4pm.
