A pub is closing its doors for five weeks while it undergoes a £250,000 refurbishment.
The Foresters, in Hampton Wick High Street, will shut after a closing party on Saturday, September 14, for a complete makeover.
The pub, which was crowned Surrey’s pub of the year 2012, will also be extending its food options with new menus and will employ four new members of staff.
Leaseholder Thomas Furber has been running the pub for seven years.
He said: “There will be major work conducted throughout the pub, taking it back to the original roots and traditional styling of a great British pub to include new flooring and dark wooden furnishings offset with hints of brass.
“The plans look fantastic; we will be offering the community something different and a range of facilities to suit all in a warm and friendly pub environment. I look forward to seeing the end result.”
Punch Taverns’ partnership development manager Steve Charlton said: “It’s great that Punch can invest in its pubs and we essentially want to build on the Foresters’ reputation as the leading pub that provides great drinks and quality dining with unmatched service with something for everyone, in south-west London and Surrey.”
