Richmond’s deputy mayor was seen busting a move on Richmond Riverside last weekend, when he danced Gangnam Style.
Councillor Stephen Speak enjoyed himself on Saturday, August 17, when he pulled off the moves to teh South Korean pop sensation – a song released last summer which became an instant hit due its unique dance routine.
The deputy mayor was one of about 6,000 people on the riverside as part of the 18th On the Edge music festival.
He said: “It was a good weekend, it was very relaxed. I was told it was extremely funny watching me trying to dance.”
The festival included a variety of musicians and bands including Oompah Brass, Global Reggae Band and Barraca Flemenca.
Councillor Pamela Fleming, cabinet member for culture, said: “Some just sat and enjoyed the music, others got up and joined in – particularly with the regular fans including the Elvis’s [Elvi? Ed], who danced along all weekend.
“On the Edge is not just about music on the riverside though, it is about bringing together people of different backgrounds and nationalities and creating a real community event that represents the diversity of our borough.”
