A new three-storey development was approved last week, becoming the second set of affordable housing approved within a month.

The latest development from Richmond Housing Partnership (RHP) will include six affordable homes at Cave Road, Ham.

The development will provide three two bed flats, including one wheelchair accessible home, and three one-bedroom flats.

Earlier this month, Richmond Council approved 34 homes across the borough, that will be built in Little Queens Road in Teddington, Sheridan Road in Ham, Meadlands Drive in Petersham, Arundel Close in Hampton Hill, Chandler Close in Hampton, Willow Avenue in Barnes and Stirling Road in Twickenham.

David Done, chief executive at RHP, said: “Our new developments will support the growth of sustainable, economically active communities and will provide housing to meet a variety of needs.

“We are grateful for the support we have received from Richmond Council and look forward to continuing to create places where people want to live.”

Cabinet member for adult services and housing Councillor David Marlow said: “RHP is doing so much to boost the borough’s affordable housing stock and these plans will be well received by residents who have housing needs and wish to rent an affordable home.

“We work hard with housing providers to source any new potential sites and we have a very strong working relationship with RHP.”
