Nature enthusiasts have a unique opportunity to join Springwatch presenter, naturalist and author Nick Baker for a special talk on tracking animals.
Every animal leaves some kind of trace as it moves and the art of tracking is very much like learning to read.
Audience members will learn how to read the signs left by footprints, leftover food and scrapes in the earth which will enable them to build up a detailed picture of the animal’s life.
In this talk the TV naturalist will reveal the secrets of the nature tracker and there will be plenty of tips for people to take home and try out.
His experience includes expeditions to the wildest parts of the planet in search of weird, bizarre and incredible creatures.
He will also be signing copies of his new cook, the Nature Trackers’ Handbook, which will be for sale in the Wetland Centre shop.
Nick Baker’s Nature Tracker talk; WWT London Wetland Centre, Queen Elizabeth Walk, Barnes; September 1; 2pm; £10, plus admission; 020 8409 4400.
