St Mary’s University is reassuring any students who do not make the grade with their A-levels this week that there is still hope through clearing.

The university is offering a limited number of places through clearing, giving students another chance to find the right degree for them.

St Mary’s registrar Tam Milner said: “When students don’t achieve the grades they had hoped for they often feel like they have wasted the last year and missed out on going to university, but this isn’t the case at all.

“We are offering places on various subjects through clearing, all of which could offer students the perfect opportunity to continue of their road to higher education this September.”

This is the first year university has entered the clearing process since 2010 and are encouraging people to get in touch as soon as they can.

St Mary’s clearing hotline, 020 8240 4225, will be open from 8am on Thursday, August 15, with an open day on Friday, August 16, from 10am to 5pm.
