The Archers’ seductive pub landlady Jolene Perks will swap the Bull in Ambridge for the Wetland Centre in Barnes.

Archers’ star Jolene, aka actress Buffy Davis, will bring pints of rural charm to the nature reserve for a special fundraising event.

Davis will be giving her take on playing one of the Archers’ most exciting characters, whose storylines have captured the interest of 5m listeners.

Visitors will be able to quiz Davis in a question and answer session to gain an insight into the world of the Archers and travel behind the scenes of one of the world’s longest running soap operas.

Jolene’s had a lively and scandalous time in Ambridge.

She tempted pub landlord Sid away from his wife, in an affair which led to a steamy shower scene previously unthinkable on Britain’s most genteel soap, resulting in a complaint from an MP.

After Sid’s death in 2010 the licentious licensee surprised listeners by beginning a relationship with Kenton Archer.

Her engagement to Kenton in July this year makes her truly a member of the Archer clan, as well as a significant central figure in the community.

Davis says: “Jolene has enjoyed a luscious life in Ambridge.

“I’m looking forward to sharing some of the stories from behind the scenes at Borsetshire’s finest public house.”

Ticket sales for the event will contribute to the Wetlands Centre conservation work, including saving the critically endangered spoon-billed sandpiper.
