A campaign by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs came to Richmond this week.
The StartUp Britain bus offers budding businessmen and women free help and support and parked outside PayPal offices in Whittaker Avenue on Wednesday, August 7.
The brightly-coloured double-decker bus was filled with start-up experts and business champions who shared their wisdom with people.
MP for Richmond Park Zac Goldsmith said: “The StartUp Britain campaign is valuable not only for the people it directly inspires, but for all of us. If we are to get the economy going again, it will most likely be because of start ups and small businesses, not the giant corporates.
“Small and medium size businesses employ a disproportionately large number of people and make a vast contribution to our economy, and we should be doing everything we can to support them.”
The StartUp Britain campaign is also behind PopUp Britain, which launched its first ever pilot store in Kew Road almost a year ago.
It saw 60 start-ups get their first taste of the high street via the empty estate agents’ shop opposite Richmond station.
Mark Brant from PayPal said: “PayPal is proud to be a founding sponsor of StartUp Britain, which does a great job supporting Britain’s newest entrepreneurs – as well as helping boost the economy.”
