A butcher from St Margarets cooks the best sausages in the borough, according to local taste buds.
Darren Armstrong and his team at Armstrong’s Family Butchers scooped first prize in the borough’s best banger competition as part of the Twickenham Festival.
Butchers across the borough took part and the winner was decided by the public in a blind taste test.
Armstrong’s entered its bestselling variety – the traditional pork breakfast sausage – a recipe about 80 years old which previously won gold at the South of England Show.
Winning butcher Mr Armstrong said: “We are proud to keep the tradition of the local butchers shop going, and feel that small, family run businesses are a great addition to any high street and are important to the local community.
“We offer personal service, a level of expertise and a passion that cannot be found in supermarkets.”
Adam Tocock from the St Margarets Traders’ Association said: “We’re all very proud of Darren and the team at Armstrong’s.
“Their shop here in St Margarets is extremely popular and it’s great to see a traditional independent family business doing so well.”
