Residents of Castelnau will be left without a community centre as extensive renovations continue throughout summer.
Phase two of the reconstruction on the Castelnau Centre is set to start on July 8, as part of the Council’s Uplift programme.
The centre already has a £30,000 makeover to the outside facilities and plans to spend £260,000 more on the upcoming indoor changes.
The work starting this July will include repairs to the insulation, kitchen, toilets and windows and installation of a new youth zone.
Councillor Virginia Morris, cabinet member for environment, said: “The Castelnau Community Centre is a very well used local resource in Barnes and we should make sure that the users have the best possible facilities available.”
The centre is set to re-open on September 16.
