More than £10,000 was raised at Kew Summer Fete to help charities in the neighbourhood.
The summer festival on June 22, included stalls filled with various foods, a game of tug-of-war, and a dog show for visitors to enjoy.
Guests included Sally Phillips, from Bridget Jones’s Diary, and Nicholas Gleaves and Lesley Sharp, both from British drama series Scott and Bailey.
The festival has raised money for the Richmond FoodBank, Kew Community Trust, Home-Start Richmond, Me Too & Co, the Friends of Abbeyfield, Orange Tree Theatre, Small Steps and Fitzroy Support.
Organisers of the event have now decided to pick additional charities to support after finding out that the festival raised close to £12,000.
Judith Becker, a member of the fete committee, said: “The breezy overcast couldn’t shadow the joyous spirits of the attendees. The support we have received from community was incredible.”
