Charitable musicians from around the world are hosting a concert to support starving people in Kashmir.
Orquesta Sin Fronteras (OSF) is a Teddington and Hampton community project that puts on performances to raise money for those in crisis.
One of the group’s singers, Mansoor Ahmad, is from Srinagar, Kashmir, and with the support of OSF opened and runs a soup kitchen to help alleviate hunger.
OSF hopes to boost funding for the soup kitchen and roll out the second phase of its project, which will include developing an education programme for street children.
OSF director Lily Schaen says: “Through music, through human openness and kindness, Teddington is touching the hearts of those in extreme situations of poverty and despair in Kashmir.”
OSF crisis in Kashmir fundraising concert at Fitness First, in Broad Street, Teddington, Monday, June 24, 6pm to 9pm. Call 07766 642017 or visit orquestasinfronteras.com.
