Music veterans the Pretty Things will take a musical trip down memory lane this month as they celebrate their 50th anniversary.
The Pretty Things will be at the Eel Pie Club as part of their UK and European tour in celebration of their incredible history.
They will deliver an acoustic line-up of their hits and venture back to the rhythm and blues that made them famous.
Two original Pretty Things - Phil May on lead vocals, guitar and blues harp, and Dick Taylor, who was also an original Rolling Stone, on acoustic, slide and lead guitar – will be joined by Frank Holland on acoustic, slide guitar, backing vocals and blues harp.
May says: “We have been on the road for the whole of this year doing this celebration, and the idea really is we are going right the way through the history of the band.
“It will represent across the board and as much history as we can pack in there.”
The band created some of the most exciting and innovative records of the late 1960s and early 1970s and received the Hero Award in 2011 at the Mojo Honours.
May says of Eel Pie Club: “It’s a nice gig, it’s intimate and one of those gigs where we can be really loose. “I’m looking forward to it very much. We are not in London very often so it’s nice to catch up with people here when we visit.”
Opening for the band will be young blues guitarist, Aaron Keylock.
