Visitors to Hampton Hill Playhouse this month can enjoy a play about life and love, performed by an amateur theatre group.
Teddington Theatre Club is to perform Love and Understanding, which follows the lives of two overworked young doctors, Neal and Rachel, who endure a stressful and almost sexless romance.
Director Alice Langrish says: “Their lives are challenged, and ultimately ruined, by the entrance of Richie, an old friend and maverick, with an addictive personality, impulsive lifestyle and who walks a fine line in manipulative chitchat to stir things up a little, Neal and Rachel are forced to reassess their choices in life and love.”
The play deals with the development of relationships and follows the characters’ journeys to understand themselves.
Langrish says: “It deals with life; both the hedonistic and the conventional lifestyle choices and the different crutches that people use to get through it.
“It has a clear and vivid emotional journey, as the characters see their own imperfections reflected in others. “It’s fast paced, emotional and ultimately funny.”
