Celebrity chef Antony Worrall Thompson will donate money from a dish on the dinner menu at his Richmond restaurant to a diabetes charity.
During diabetes week, which runs from June 9 to 15, profits from the pan fried sea bass dish at the Kew Grill by Kew Green will be donated to Diabetes UK.
The Saturday Kitchen host had pre diabetes diagnosed in 2003, a condition of higher than normal blood glucose levels which can lead to type 2 diabetes.
He said: “Finding out that I was at an increased risk of developing diabetes gave me the motivation to lead a healthier lifestyle and, as food is my life, I developed recipes for everyone who enjoys good food.
“I’m delighted to be supporting Diabetes UK during diabetes week. It’s a perfect opportunity to not only donate funds to the charity but to also showcase that people living with the condition can still eat meals that are appealing and delicious.”
