Sir David Attenborough is said to be recovering well after major heart surgery yesterday.
The wildlife broadcaster, who lives in Richmond, had to cancel his Australian tour after he needed a pacemaker fitted.
The 87-year-old had surgery yesterday in London and doctors said he was doing well.
A pacemaker is a small battery operated device that fits in the chest and about 25,000 people have the procedure done each year.
The naturalist, who is still making programmes, said earlier this year he had no intention of slowing down and has a 3D series coming out this Christmas.
