A community group is hoping to take advantage of road closures for an Olympic legacy cycle race and create a festival this summer.
The Prudential Ride London Surrey 100 will see thousands of amateur and professional cyclists whizz through the borough on Sunday, August 4.
It is anticipated that there will be road closures along the route throughout the day, potentially including Hampton Wick High Street.
The Hampton Wick Association (HWA) hopes to take the opportunity to create a community event for families to enjoy, and help businesses make up any potential loss of trade due to the closures.
The group is planning a Hampton Wick festival and grand parade, which could see scouts, schools, charities and musicians march along the high street.
HWA hopes to start an annual event and wants to gauge interest.
To express interest, with no commitment at this time, email chair@hamptonwick.org.uk.
Full details of the road closures and timings for the event are yet to be confirmed.
