An independent sandwich shop in Richmond has won an award after one year of trading.
Cook and Garcia, founded by Teddington residents Janet and Richard Garcia in May last year, were presented the independent sandwich bar of the year award by celebrity chef Jean-Chrisophe Novelli at a ceremony in London.
Founder Mr Garcia said: “As a start up at the end of our first year of trading, we are stunned to have won such a prestigious award.
“I am thrilled for the team after all their hard work and grateful for the overwhelming support of the local community, residents and people working in Richmond.”
The sandwich bar, in The Quadrant near Richmond station, was secretly visited by the judging panel before it scooped the prestigious award and also won best website at last year’s Richmond Business Awards.
