A teenager from Hampton has sung her way to the area finals of a national competition while studying for her A/S-levels.
Eleanor Griffiths will sing in front of music industry judges at the regional finals of the TeenStar competition on Saturday, together with classmate Louis Centioni.
If the 17-year-olds make it to the final, they will perform at the O2 Arena on July 7.
Miss Griffiths, of Oldfield Road, Hampton, said: “I want to win. It’s great exposure for my music, and the experience of performing is really good, but I’m hoping I’ll win.”
The duo met at the Brit School for performing arts and technology, where they are now studying for their exams.
Miss Griffiths said it was difficult to juggle singing and revising.
She said: “It’s really hard, I don’t sleep much. I go to school, go back, practise, do revision until midnight and get up early the next day.”
They are going to sing If I Ain’t Got You by Alisha Keys at the area finals, which will take place at Beck Theatre in Hayes.
Miss Griffiths said: “We tried to do original songs but that didn’t go down too well.”
More than 9,000 singers and bands entered the competition and at the London regional finals in April, the judges praised the duo’s singing.
Miss Griffiths said: “They said I needed to take my performance up a notch, and I will. I really want to get through and sing at the O2.”
