The Alzheimer’s Society has invited Richmond people to learn about dementia.
People are invited to visit us at various awareness raising events throughout the week, from May 19 to 25, where they can meet staff and volunteers from Alzheimer’s Society for information, guidance and support.
Lynn James, Alzheimer’s Society support services manager for Richmond and Kingston, said: “The week is an opportunity to increase understanding about dementia, address misconceptions and ensure people receive the support they need to live well with dementia.
“Having a conversation about dementia can sometimes be difficult, but often talking can change things for the better.
“From speaking to friends and family, to your GP, or getting support from Alzheimer’s Society – talking can be an important first step in accessing support that’s right for you.”
An awareness day will place on Monday, May 20, at the Woodville Centre in Ham from 10.30am until 2pm, which will give the chance to look at information stalls and buy plants.
