A woman in a care home in Richmond celebrated her 103rd birthday this week.
Mary Gibbons, who lives in the Greville House care home in Richmond, was surrounded by friends and family who helped her celebrate her most impressive birthday.
She was presented a giant cake by her favourite nursing home chef, Onrawee Bridhikitti, when they celebrated at the home on Monday, April 29.
A pianist was invited to the care home in Greville Road and Mrs Gibbons was presented with a bouquet of flowers.
Anne Golding at the care home said: “It was a really nice day. Her son and daughter-in-law came and we had a little piano recital for her.
“When I saw her the next day she thanked us and said that she was worn out.”
Mrs Gibbons said she had an enjoyable day and thanked the staff for making so memorable.
She said: “They were all very, very good. I’m still tired today.”
Despite making it to the grand old age of 103, Mrs Gibbons said she was not sure of the secret to a long life.
She said: “Well there isn’t one really. I did everything that other people do but it must have been God looking after me.”
