A Masterchef judge dived into Hampton Pool to work off some of the calories consumed in the delicious dishes whipped up for the show.
Australian celebrity chef John Torode, who presents the BBC programme alongside pudding-lover Gregg Wallace, enjoyed a swim in the open air pool in High Street, Hampton, when he visited on Tuesday, April 30.
The cookery expert relaxed with a coffee and a newspaper after his workout in the 36m heated pool, which is set in two acres of woodland next to Bushy Park.
Torode cycled down to the pool after one of his 67,078 twitter followers responded to one of his tweets and recommended he try the sporting venue.
He wrote on Twitter: “Hello World.. Tuesday and what to do. Swim, or long cycle?"
General manager Simon Bailey said Torode chatted to the staff but did not let anything slip about the Masterchef final, due to air on Thursday, May 2.
He said: “Obviously the receptionist recognised him straight away as she is a fan of Masterchef.
“He was very nice. A lovely guy.”
Staff and regulars at Hampton Pool are no strangers to celeb spotting as Torode is the latest of a series of famous faces to make an appearance, including Olympic gold medallist Alistair Brownlee who visited in April.
